Simon Drive-in (Spring 2009)

This past weekend I had a party.  It was the second time I had such a party.  Basically I built a 5’ x 8’ movie screen that mounts to my shed outside.  We grab my projector, DVD player, and some speakers, and watch a movie.  The first time we had it, we watched “Young Frankenstein”.  I estimated about 20-30 people showed up, and we all had a great time.  This last weekend we showed “Transformers”.

Stressed out, but happy

Hi to all my fans… ok, to anyone who wants to read this.  I don’t have a ton of traffic on the blog, so I don’t really know who is reading my posts.  Not that it really matters, it is mostly a place for me to vent anyway.

It has been a long time (again) since I have posted.  I just re-read it.  The new site hasn’t done what it was intended to do.  It got a lot of traffic at first, then has dwindled down.  It still gets some traffic, but not a whole lot.  But, this is not the purpose of this blog post.

One of Life’s Lessons

It has been awhile since I have written a blog here.  I apologize to my fans…  are there any out there?  LOL

Anyway… I have had several disappointments in the recent past.  Most of them have been trying to show me one thing; you cannot rely on other people to get the work done, you can only rely on yourself.

E-Lance, I am working it hard

So far the experience has not been what I was hoping. I did get a contract to do a quick project, and I did it in the allotted time. I got paid and everything. I didn’t realize how hard it was going to be to fight for projects. I can easily do most of the $500 web sites, except for the ones that are asking for ridiculous functionality for $500. There is a lot of competition out there, and I am doing my best to compete.

Scams

Nothing irritates me more than people taking advantage of others.  Scams that steal money, or personal information are the worst of all of the irritations.  I have posted this to a couple of blogs anda  group, hoping to spread the word, and maybe help a few people NOT get scammed.  

New Business

I have decided to start a 2nd business, which will be a partnership instead of a solo venture.  This new business is not connected with computers, except for that we are selling everything on-line.

What we are selling is accessories for ATVs, Motorcycles, and more.  We are building our product line as fast as we can.

A relaxing weekend

There were a few weeks in a row where I was too busy to see straight.  Since the family reunion, I have just been going nuts.  So, this weekend, I took off to a friends house that was about a 3 hour drive away.  We had nothing special planned, just going to hang out.  It had been too long since I had some good quality time with a friend!

LOL – I didn’t have time to blog about my family reunion when I got back.  I have been a bit busy. 

Looking forward to the weekend

I am taking the kids up North this weekend, and it should be fun.  I have never been to this place before, and we are having a mini family reunion.  The drive will be long, but not too bad.  It is a good chance for the kids to see their cousins, as well as me to see mine.
